Another frugal find, taking bar soap and making into liquid soap. It actually triples the amount of soap!! CHA CHING. It really stinks up the place like soap, so I would suggest a well ventilated area. I had all windows open and the front door. Next time I'm wearing a mask. Worked out fantastic and will be doing the next round for Caleb in a manly scent.
Read the how to below, found this here
What you'll
need:
- 3 Bars of Dove Soap (any scent you like, I like Summer Care)
- 6 Cups of water
- Grater
- glycerin {you don't need this, but I added it in}
wanted to add in: I only used 3 bars for the first batch and yielded quite a bit, I don't see why you couldn't use all six in a pack and double the recipe. Just make sure you have a large container to hold it all and store it.
Price Breakdown:
3 bars of Dove soap = $3.50 (for nearly 6 months of body wash)Store bought Dove Body wash = $6.50 (for just over a month of body wash)

That is a great idea - my husband goes through body wash like nobody's business!
ReplyDeletewell there you are, give it a go! would love to hear how it went for you
DeleteI've seen this on Pinterest, but I haven't tried it (pinned your post too!). It's amazing how much body wash you get out of just 3 bars of soap. Cool!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kelly!

ReplyDeleteIt really is super easy!
DeleteMy husband goes through them quickly too! I'm definitely trying this! Thanks. I found you via Sugar Bee Crafts. :)
ReplyDeletegive it a go and come back and let me know what you think!
DeleteI've been doing this but have a problem. I like Olay soap but can't get it to thicken up. Dove works great but there's something in it that makes me itch. Anybody have any ideas on how I can get the Olay to thicken? Its so runny I end up using more (wasting it actually).
ReplyDeleteDove is my favorite. It is really very effective. I love this soap..!!
