Colored Ice Balls

 

 

The holidays have been keeping me super busy and today decided to take a {gasps*} extra non-planned day off and experiment.  If there is one thing that I take seriously in personal parenting, its the teaching and learning of how things work and making it fun! We have been getting some really really cold weather in the negatives, so I decided to give the "colored balls" a go! It was super easy, affordable and Caleb loved it. 

 All you have to do to make these yourself is:

purchase a bag of balloons and some food coloring. Put 5-6 drops food coloring in each balloon and fill them with water {like a water balloon}, tie them off and then place them in a bin, box, bag {whatever really} and then wait for a really cold freezing night and leave them outside overnight. The next day you should have frozen balloons, take some scissors and peel of the balloon latex and expose the colorful frozen water circles! Colorful and fun!
